Over 20 keynote speakers and nearly 200 exhibits are on agenda this year for the sixth annual Marcellus-Utica Midstream Conference and Exhibition in Pittsburgh. Last year, the conference brought in over 1,800 attendees and despite industry cutbacks, editor-in-chief of Midstream Business and conference host Paul Hart says registration to this point has already surpassed last year’s totals.
“Our registrations are above where they were at this point a year ago,” said Hart. “Interesting enough, despite the cutbacks across the industry, we’re really expecting at least as big of crowd if not a bigger crowd than last year.”
With the drastic decline in oil prices during the fourth quarter of 2014, oil and gas companies have been unwillingly forced to cut costs, even in a natural gas-exclusive shale such as the Marcellus. The oil-producing Utica Shale has also seen its fair share of cutbacks as well.
